Staff Advisory Council Minutes
Thursday, March 12, 2009

I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:02 p.m. by Patty Smith.
Jody Klontz, new member, was welcomed and introduced.
Approval of February, 2009 Council Minutes
Minutes were approved with a correction - motion by Paul Pasman and 2nd by Adele Almaguer.
II. Committee Updates
Executive Committee will be composed of Patty Smith, Chair, Mo Marnocha, VP, and Victoria Chidister, Secretary.
Elections Committee
Adele Almaguer, Mo Marnocha and Jody Klontz will serve on this committee.
Benefits Committee
Roxie Litteral will replace Joe Wheeler as the representative for this committee.
By-laws Committee
Updates to the by laws are complete
Parking Appeals/Parking
Shari Herman will serve as the representative through the end of the summer and Joe Wheeler will start in the Fall 2009.
Promotions Committee
Relay for Life is on April 24-25. A discussion was held concerning SAC’s involvement in the silent auction and the walk. The possibility of another “Hacienda Night” will be pursued. More info about Relay for Life and opportunities for involvement will be forthcoming.
Mo Marnocha, Marie Revak and Laura Gerber will serve on this committee.
ECDC
Sandy Sarber volunteered to serve on a committee that John Affleck Graves is convening to discuss ECDC and future possibilities for the center.
Webpage Committee
Recent updates to SAC and the bylaws have been noted on the web site.
Compassion Fund
No News
III. New Business
SAC members brainstormed ideas for spring/summer meeting speakers. These individuals will be contacted and Lori/Patty will work on scheduling the sessions.
Patty asked for a SAC member to serve on a University committee to select the Presidential Awards and Char-anna Koblick volunteered.
IV.Additional Business
John Affleck Graves, Executive Vice President, was the guest speaker. Dr. Affleck Graves reviewed the results of ND Voice 2008 and offered his insights.
He focused on the five top favorable results and the five least favorable results. He asked for feedback from the group on issues including providing feedback/evaluations of supervisors. Dr. Affleck Graves spent a great deal of time taking questions and suggestions from the group on making ND a better place to work.
V. Adjournment
Mo Marnocha made a motion to adjourn at 3:00 p.m. The motion was seconded by Patty Smith.
