I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. by Patty Smith.
Approval of March 2011 Council Minutes
Minutes were approved with minor revisions - motion by Kathy Troth and 2nd by Barb Wadley
II. Committee Updates
Benefits Committee
There is a WebMD meeting on April 14 at 3:00 pm. Diana Singleton, as the new representative from SAC to the Benefits Committee, has a meeting with Denise Murphy, Director of Compensation & Benefits.
Parking Appeals/Parking
No news
Promotions Committee
Hacienda Night was held as a fundraiser for Relay for Life. More to come on how much money was raised.
Announced that Chick-Fil-A will be holding a fundraiser for on April 19th. 20% of proceeds go to Relay for Life.
The jeans squares from Operation Quiet Comfort have been turned over to the woman who puts the quilts together.

A meeting is scheduled for April 18.
Compassion Fund
Two requests were approved and one is pending.
III. New Business
SAC discussed the performance review process and voiced concerns about the tool, , saying it is not user friendly. An issue was raised about the “9 box” and instructions that are being used by HR and Budget to distribute merit increases. Lori answered a few questions on this topic.
A positive review was given by a SAC member on the HR class, “Networking for Success.” The class was taught by the Group.
Lisa Yates, Associate HR Consultant for Athletics and Business Operations, was the guest speaker. Lisa explained her background, experience and education to SAC members. She talked about her role and her philosophy in approaching her work with managers and employees. Lisa described some new initiatives that she is involved in that are being piloted in the Food Services area (job shadowing, officer hours). Lisa then answered questions from the group about various work place topics.
IV. Old Business
It was confirmed that there are 60 spaces for faculty/staff in the D-6 lot as described by Jeff Korros at the March meeting. SAC will wait to hear from Jeff about the progress of better parking arrangements for staff in that lot.
