I. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:11 pm by Tami Springer, after having the group photo taken.

April minutes were reviewed –Shebra Guidry made a motion to approve with a second by Kim Miller.

Benefit Committee

Roll out of retirement plan

Parking Appeals

2 appeals approved

Promotions Committee

SAC will have a table at the staff picnic to promote SAC. Staff picnic volunteers: Evelyn Mitchell, Adam Zelinski, Michael Mueller, Char-Anna Kobick, and Kim Miller plus SAC officers.  Also presented was the promotion for ND Trio which will start in July.

Website updated.

ECDC

Contact back in June?  No meetings presently scheduled.

Compassion Fund

1 request granted.

Interim Parking Committee

Rep absent.

III. New Business

Father Jim Bracke, CSC gave some background information about himself. He is the Notre Dame Staff Chaplain to over 4,700 staff. He is on campus and ready to assist with family funerals, hospital visits, retreats and whatever else he can assist with. Father Bracke is also conducting a Spiritual Series once a month from 4-6 pm in Coleman Morse. These are open to anyone on campus.  Please contact Fr. Jim at james.a.bracke.4@nd.edu or 574-631-4131.

Sharon Hawkins explained about the new onboarding program through HR - it is now 3 days for new employees. They are presented with information about benefits, given a tour of campus, and more. 

Comment about the Notre Dame Dining halls in Men’s Health magazine. The magazine recently released a list of the top college dining halls and included Notre Dame among peers such as Yale, Cornell and as one of the best colleges in the country.

Comment brought up about the 5 meal plan that can be purchased through food.nd.edu at a very reasonable price.   

Question about vacation time for nonexempt versus exempt. 

Comment about Wellness Center and possibly releasing an employee back to work too soon.

Comment about pharmacy at Wellness Center being very helpful. Low-cost prescription drug information was passed on to employees.
