I. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:04 pm by Tami Springer.

June minutes were reviewed –Robyn Karkiewicz made a motion to approve with a second by Sheba Guidry.

III. New Business

Laura Strunk, Chef and Heather Anderson, Catering Manager from Catering by Design were guest speakers.  Heather discussed how to place an order and who to contact.  Heather also discussed the various menus to choose from and customizing your orders.   Heather fielded questions about various costs of water, paper products etc. Website for catering menu’s: food.nd.edu – catering.  Email for placing orders: catering.1@nd.edu.

Laura shared samples of penne gorgonzola and macaroons with SAC. Laura distributed samples menus and discussed the process of ordering products for events. Laura stated 10 business days are needed to order and prep products before a big event. Laura discussed special orders that catering can do and stated and that events can be entirely customized.  Laura explained about the Food Service Support Facility (FSSF) and what products come out of the facility.  Laura spoke about how products are freshly made each day at FSSF and bake shop. Some of the questions Laura fielded were about the consistency of products, ice water that tastes like coffee, menu cycles and food allergies.               

Questions about Fred Freeman Freeman Scholarship Fund – who makes up the committee and who determines whom receives the scholarship.
