I. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 1:08 pm by Tami Springer.

May minutes were reviewed –Char-Anna Koblick made a motion to approve with a second by Michael Mueller.

Presented the promotion for ND TRiO starting on June 30.

III. New Business

Jennie Phillips, Assist Director from RecSports was guest speaker.  Jennie discussed the many programs offered to staff, students and retirees. Some of the programs are as follows, but not limited to: Fitness, FAST ( Faculty, Staff and retirees only), Instructional Programs, Summer Freebies, Family Programs, Intramurals, Personal Trainers, Outdoor Adventures.   Current buildings with staff access are: Rolfs Rec Sports, Rockne Memorial, and Rolfs Aquatic Center.  Employees may use the facilities at no charge. Need to show employee ID for access.  She also fielded questions about dependent children and teenage children too.  There was discussion about dependent children, who may use facilities with proof of dependency and $3.00 fee per usage. There are currently no programs for teens. Jennie suggested emailing her with ideas about additional programs.  Website: http://recsports.nd.edu/.

Comment about University policy regarding bringing dogs to work. Sharon checked on Risk Management website.  The policy is that only service dogs are allowed. For any concerns on this matter, contact HR Consultant or Risk Management.

Next month Jenny Borg, HR consultant, will be present at meeting.

The names for the Staff Advisory Council Promotions Drawing from the HR Staff Picnic today were randomly pulled at meeting.   The winners are as follows:  basket winners (donated by Notre Dame Food Services) - Patsy Billingsley and Melody Kesler.   Mendoza Bag winner (donated by Mendoza College of Business) – Lauren Sue Martin.
