Staff Advisory Council Minutes
Thursday, October 8, 2015
Notre Dame Room, Lafortune
Present:
Tami Springer, Jan Solkey, Amanda Huerta, Evelyn Mitchell, Valerie Schroeder, Char-anna Koblick, Shebra Guidry, Kim Miller, Lori Haselrick, Michael Mueller, Julie Logue, Tricia Dalenberg, Joe Reimers, and Bobbi McMahon.

Robyn Karkiewicz, Alissa Hochstetler, Julie DeSchaine, Nancy Cole and Susan Monroe.

I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:05 pm by Tami Springer.
September minutes were reviewed, corrections noted – Shebra Guidry made a motion to approve with a second by Michael Mueller.
II.Committee Updates
Benefit Committee
Robyn Karkiewicz was absent from meeting.
Parking Appeals
Tricia Dalenberg reported no meeting about appeals.
Promotions Committee
Bobbi McMahon, Evelyn Mitchell, and Jan Solkey presented the revised fall promotion with Notre Dame Arts and Culture Center. Promotions will not be doing a raffle as
fundraiser. Promotions will be collecting donated items the Center can utilize.
Website Committee
Amanda Huerta working on adding to archives. SAC group questioned if a counter can
be added to website to record the number of views.
ECDC
Kim Miller had nothing to report.
Interim Parking
Joe Reimers reported once Library construction projects are completed no additional parking spaces will be allotted, instead they will be green spaces. NDSP are increasing enforcement of parking around the stadium. It was noted D lots are specifically student lots. The stripes in D6 lot are to be repainted. Question about handicapped parking around Mendoza – recommended they use DPAC handicapped parking instead. University working on app for phone to use for parking.
Compassion Fund
Shebra Guildry had one request.
III.Old Business
Tami opened for discussion the new health care plan and feedback have reps received. Some districts are concerned employees will not have sufficient time to attend the Health Fair. Very favorable comments for Human Resources presentation about new health care plan. Comments that Human Resources has been very informational in helping to understand changes. Concern that there is some confusion about high deductible plan.
Parking remains a constant issue. Some departments have implemented using bicycles to get around campus. Sustainability has a bike program in place. The website is: http://green.nd.edu.
IV. New Business
Tami opened for discussion future speakers. Doug Marsh from architecture, John Affleck- Graves, security, and sustainability were discussed. Elections coming up in November – even districts up for election. Opened discussion for potluck in December.
